Airship 'Blind Obedience'

This is an example of the largest airships in the fleet of the People's New Order. The "Blind Obedience" is the first in the class. These are bombers, and take the WWI "cigar shape" to its upper limits. At nearly 1400 feet long, the ship is powered by eleven Ustinkov diesels and has four 80mm anti-aircraft turrets and several machine gun posts mounted throughout the ship. The crew is very large (about 350-400) and consists of: 3 Commissars (who have veto power over the commander); 6 senior officers, 20 junior officers, 50 warrant and chief petty officers, 75 in engineering, 70 in deck/navigation, 30 in ship's service, and 100 conscripts/convicts. Accommodations are for the most part spartan, and downright wretched for the conscripts. The conscripts are used for all of the various menial/dangerous tasks aboard such as running ammunition, assisting in the engine cars, standing watch on very precarious posts along the hull, and are chained together when off duty (as such, they've even been used as human ballast). On average, about 20% of the conscripts aboard will become casualties (even in peacetime) due to lack of training, extremely poor working conditions, and general disregard for their well-being.
